Learning the proper brushing techniques is an important part of your Oral Hygiene Instructions. At our dental office, we take pride in training all our patients on the best ways to take care of their teeth including learning good brushing technique. We want our patients to avoid any potential of cavities or gum disease over time. Here are some methods you can use to achieve that goal in a proper way.
The idea here is to put the brush either on the left or right, and then you have to move it along the side of your teeth towards the back. Then you will bring it in front too. Ideally you want to repeat this brushing technique over and over about 6-7 times. You shouldn’t overdo or apply too much pressure because it may damage your gums.
A lot of people consider the bass method to be one of the best teeth cleaning methods out there. You need to put the bristles at a 45 degree angle on the tooth surface. Then move your brush back and forth over your teeth. Change the angle and focus on three teeth at a time, then continue completing brushing your upper and lower teeth.
The brushing technique is similar to the bass method except you do shorter horizontal strokes.
Ideally you want to put the bristles towards the teeth and then the sides of the bristles will be placed at the gum line. You need to move the brush in back and forth motions.
This brushing technique is pretty self-explanatory. You need to brush your teeth using a rotational method. But the problem is that it can be very tricky for your teeth, since you will end up brushing some of them too much and others none at all.
With the roll stroke brushing technique you will end up pointing the bristles towards the root. You can end up removing some of the unwanted compounds near the root, but on the other hand it will take more time to brush properly.
Even if you brush often, you have to realize that the best way (Brushing Techniques) to boost your oral care is to go to the dentist. Set an appointment every 6 months and you will be able to assess the effectiveness of your oral hygiene techniques as well as resolve any dental issues you may have. Your oral hygiene at home along with regular visits to your dentist office will help keep your smile bright and clean!
